The only other post regarding this issue was not resolved, so I’m posting again.
The issue I have is being unable to zoom via scrolling.
I have also tried:
- Checking the mouse wheel in other programs
- Checking the zoom in/out settings (it works on other programs)
- Closing and opening the program (solves it temporarily)
Other things that work for a while are:
- Restarting my PC
- Uninstalling Krita and then reinstalling it
Things I know are not the issue
- Driver
- Input Device
- My computer being older
It usually happens after using the animation curve feature. I just installed version 5.1.5 (Previously on 4.something)
Until I can find a solution I likely will just keep on using the temp solutions
EDIT 1: I have found it starts after I use the animation curves feature, not when the program stops responding.
EDIT 2: Removed a paragraph I found to be unreasonable in request & apologise for how I worded it, and having it in there.
EDIT 3: The solution worked temporarily.
Please excuse that I will not try to help you. But I simply cannot guarantee in advance that I would not have to inquire possibly forgotten or further circumstances in the course.
Furthermore, I ask you to consider that the help provided here is done voluntarily by all helpers in their spare time. We are not a professionally trained support team, there is no such thing at Krita.
After all, I’m only human, and I’m not going to make an ass of myself here.
But to at least demonstrate good will to you, the nonsensical procedure of uninstalling and reinstalling Krita does no good, Krita’s configuration that could change anything is in the file “kritarc” at the end of the %LOCALAPPDATA% folder, not in any of its subfolders.
You could make a backup of the file before removing it from the %LOCALAPPDATA% folder, thereby letting Krita recreate it on the next boot, with luck it was due to a corrupted “kritarc” and the spook will be over. You can reach the folder by copying the term %LOCALAPPDATA% including the percent sign (%) into the address line of the Windows Explorer and confirming this entry.

I appreciate the assistance & apologise for how I came off, I did not intend for it to come off as being disrespectful to the volunteers at this site & do appreciate your reminder.
What I meant was if someone was looking for very specific things (IE: needing to give more detail regarding something)
I fully understand that you may not be able to help
edit: grammar & also found deleting temp files worked, for a bit
Does it work when you click on on of the docker or switch to different tool and back? if yes I think this may be reported already.
It’s only the canvas that’s the issue, I can zoom via scroll on everything else. The keybind works, but isn’t ideal for me.
It does occasionally work correctly, but only for a few moments.
Was that deleting temp files after you’d Quit krita or while it was running?
If it was after you’d Quit then it may have been the krita restart that made it work for a while.
You did say previously that made it work for a while.
If it was while krita was running then it may have been an application focus change that did it.
You could test that by having a text editor (or whatever) open and switching to it for a bit of text editing (or whatever) then switching back to krita.
Edit: It seems that this issue is also tied to being unable to use rightclick in order to switch brushes as well as the ctrl key to colourpick, I’m unsure if this means anything, but it seems to be something.
In order to delete the temp files I had to quit krita.
I think the fact I had to reopen the program to “fix” the issue in the first place may be the reason it worked after removing the temp files.
The issue seems to just appear & disappear at random, the only way to really fix it is to close & reopen krita at this point.
I have no issues switching the focus of programs either, as when I did the test, the canvas zooming worked. It stops working a few minutes into krita being open
