Version 5.3.2.1 - Mac Finder File Preview Fix?

Hello - super newb here.

Wanted to find out if there was a fix for previewing Krita files in Mac Finder?

So far, I’m still only seeing the Krita icon as the file preview image…

Hello @BriJo1103, and welcome to the forum!

No Apple user here, but for my knowledge this comes through Apple changing something and unfortunately there is no fix so far.

But there is a workaround which at least works for the Krita 5 versions, you can install the plugin Buli Commander which is a file manager for Krita and has some options how to show previews.
Here you’ll find the last working version, the plugin is no longer maintained but functional:

Yes, this workaround works

Not exactly what I wanted (thanks, Apple), but definitely useful!

So I had to Google the steps to install and enable the plug-in and there was a slight (thanks again, Apple) difference with the enabling part..

To access the Configure Krita part - unlike in Windows, access is via Krita (next to Apple icon upper left) > Preferences - which opens the Configure Krita window and then scroll down in the left side menu to Python plugin manager.

From there, the Buli Commander plugin should already be checked off.. (if not, check it)

To access the view file window, go to Tools > Scripts > Buli Commander

Thank you, you’re welcome.

By the way, you can even put it into one of your toolbars and call it with a click from there, but it also should integrate in Krita’s File menu, and if you want to go die hard, you can replace with it Krita’s standard file dialogs, so only Buli Commander handles anything file management related.

Oooh! the Krita “File” is great! i didnt even realize lol - this is so much better! xD

Now I just need to get my act together so that I can start posting some artwork. lol
