I got it straight from github, but I tried the 1.0 zip from the op’s post.
Seems like that’s not the problem, as the same error persists!
FYI: tested on both Krita 5.2.6 and the nightly 5.3 build; this didn’t change the error but might be useful for identifying the error ![]()
there is an issue with the way krita save brushes. we tried to work around it.
I have a version that uses the old code that tree walk and that works better on saved brushes.
the soonest i can provide is tomorrow [in my time]
I can confirm the error still pops up with krita plus 5.2.9 on Macos Sonoma 14.4.1.
Ill go check it again. The last attempt i tried did not work.
Was meaning to do it this weekend.
procrastination and crafts stuff took the rest of that rest day. ![]()
I want to ask if this plugin is still being developed, because if it’s not, I have a version of it running in Touchify as an addon, and I regularly test it on Linux. Additionally, Touchify is always maintained for the latest stable release and features many great tools. Still highly in development, and needs better documentation… but I’d happily pick up the extension if people would be okay with that
You are free to fork this and make your own version of it ^-^ in the spirit of opensource.
This plugin afterall started as a - “I want to do something to help myself and if it helps you too feel free to try it”
Most of the stuff in this plugin are things I use on regular.
work have been eating out most of my time. art and hobbies are taking a huge hit specially this year.
I would probably still develop this and publish what ever I find useful for myself and try to fix bug that comes along.
Also if you want the icons - i share those out as CC-BY and create new ones as I like making icons.
Happy to hear. Although it’s more of a reimagined code merge with credit given. I’m leaving the code alone for now outside of bug fixing issues while testing the rest of Touchify, but I plan to continue to maintain it’s functionality or at the very least it’s spirit as I develop my plugin.
As for the plugin code itself, I’ve continued the work over here. But yes, I’d like the ability to continue using the icons in the plugin itself. I can add a disclosure to the folder containing information about your time as the original author if you’d like. I can also put any additional information you would desire in the credits section of the README
@kaichi1342 not sure how all the programming works, but I am guessing that when the “Next” appimage updated to 6.1 prealpha and CBT was disabled, it was due to it not being QT-6. If that is the case, is there a possible update to CBT in the near future. Is there someone out there that can fork it. As much as Touchify looks great, I am on a Linux desktop and don’t need/ desire to have all the whistles and bells that plugin offers.
Hello,
My apologies - i forgot my password. ![]()
Yes , I would update it.
Since i do use it - and i regularly update krita - i would update as i see fit.
There’s lot changes in my pc , i have since drop windows [for most stuff] , and is now in fedora.
Im not that familiar yet with the setups so those are still coming along.
I switched to Kubuntu last May from 30 years on Windows, so I understand. I was hoping you were still active with the plugin and will be waiting for your update.
Love this plugin - I’m using it all the time ![]()
Do you folks have any wish-list or request, or stuff i need to address for the next update?
Speaking for myself, am happy with how the plugin works. My only issue is, I decided to jump into 6.0 before all of the plugin people had a chance to upgrade.
I would suggest that the “Toggle Brush Overlay Mode” button also allow you to activate the “Clone From All Visible Layers” option in the Clone Tool ![]()
I can study to add a separate toggle for clone from all , or add it to the setting just in case other dont want it.
Though if I add it as another toggle, i would want another one to pair with it because my brain would want things to be even for some reason.
I have updated my repos for prep [no update yet]
I would probably check the 5.3 one to see if an old bug in the brush definition is now fix.
As for Krita 6.0
I might rewrite it - the plugin is small enough to be rewritten. Mostly because well i wanna try to change the UI to what i originally wanted. A flowy UI. Where I can make it 1x10 (or 12) or 2x5(or 6) with a vertical slider for brush fade setting.
TLDR → i originally want it skinny.
Time to try attempting that.
Anyway I’m looking for 2 more toggle to add, any suggestion?
Maybe “Thickness”?
Top “Thickness” on, Bottom “Thickness” off
I have never had to mess with it, but thought I would give a suggestion. And with being able to add dockers to the popup palette and the size I have mine, the more buttons I have the merrier ![]()
I finally got to sit down and make it work.. still need to test.
sorry for like posting little updates instead of the UPDATE ver.
Sharing my progress helps me stay motivated about it - this is as far as i remember my first krita plugin.
Goal 1: publish a port (so people can use it in 6.0 as is)
Goal 2: Updated ver.
For Testing – KRITA 6.0 VER – as is**
Compact Brush Toggler V.1.0.0b**
This is the V.1.0.0 version but for Krita 6.0,
Its the same one, that uses Brush XML Preset Tree to change brush setting.
12 brush toggle available. This version is not in the master branch (that’s v.1.0.0 for 5.2)
Do tell me here if it works fine if there is any bug that popup.
So it says it is Activated, but can;t find it in either in “Dockers” or “Tools/ Scripts”. I even restarted three times to verify
FOUND IT! There was a check box with no Title at the top (green line), click the box and it is in dockers.
The only one I couldn’t test was the Soak Ink as I forgot which brushes use it. All the others work great.
