HELP with a tecnique

First, sorry for my English, it’s not my native language.

My doubt, I can’t say if it’s a search for a brush or it’s a lack of technique.

I started drawing only 1 year and a half ago. I started late hahaha. I started in photography and now I draw on photos. Armors. But that is beside the point.

I’m trying to mix techniques in my drawings (materials) and I have a problem with the background. One of my wishes is to create a textured background, similar to those of AYAMI KOJIMA.

And I wanted to know if there is any brush that creates this effect. Or if it is a technique using a brush.

If anyone can help me, explaining the technique or which brush to use. All I can find online is non-digital painting using a knife full of paste. But when it comes to doing it digitally, I don’t get the effect.

It looks like the impasto technique, Krita has some brushes that replicate that effect.

Thanks S2. I Will try.

Really thank u

I don’t think I’m very good at using all of them but those RBGA brushes are some of my favorites! Definitely give them a try!

This might help. Look at the links too like the impasto template one

While I used it to give the hair texture you may want to change brush tip to your liking.

I use height to normal map then
Color to alpha and then play around with blend modes, filters and layers
