How do I achieve this texture and feel?

A friend of mine wrote a poetry book and wanted me to draw him a book cover. Unfortunately he’s decided now on generating one using Ai , of which I can’t really stop him but if I must, I’d like to impress him and draw something way better just to prove how much better human ingenuity can be
And I’d like it to have such a theme and texture if possible. Got any tips?

If you want to do it in Krita, take a look at the watercolor brushes and the paper textures.

I think your Mac is able to unpack ZIP-Archives, if not you should ask a search engine for an adequate unpacker. You have to install the bundle first, then you can open the Krita file included and immediately have to save it as a template in Krita via ‘‘File’’ >> ‘‘Create Template From Current Image’’.
