I'm having trouble with Select Shapes Tool

I used to use adobe illustrator before, so . . . this is the first time I tried to make a vector in krita :tada:
every time I select a shape the color changes to blacker, and it happens in all the shapes I create and what changes is both the outline color and the filler color.

I tried to find the solution in the krita manual, on youtube, etc. but I haven’t found a solution yet.
:kiki_sweat_smile:
the device I use: windows 7, intel i5-2400 ram 8 Gig
krita version: 5.1.3

still not back to normal :exploding_head:,
maybe later I will try to make a vector in krita using my windows 10 laptop.

Hi @Iruhas - I was waiting to see if someone had an idea for you. The one thing that I wondered about is Windows 7. Some people are able to make 7 work with Krita but as I understand it, most times it won’t really work. There is an older version of krita that will work with Windows 7, it’s one of the earliest 4.x versions.

But maybe someone else has a different idea.

It certainly is weird. It doesn’t seem to be a wide spread bug, as no one else reported it. A possibility is the Windows 7, as it isn’t supported anymore. So weirdness could happen and it wouldn’t be tackled even if reported (considering the bug is exclusive to Windows 7).

Another thing: I saw your Color Space being: Adobe RGB (1998). Does this behaviour still appears when using the default color space?

Sorry, but that’s nonsense! I didn’t have to do anything special, to make it work on Win7. My OS install is bog standard, and current Krita is working fine out of the box. In fact, pretty much any software that quotes Win10 as minimum requirement, is running fine - unless it’s actively preventing installation.

On topic: I seem to recall a report/discussion about that issue, but I couldn’t find it.

It takes the current foreground and background colour and assigns it to the selected shape. Which should not be happening. It should only take the foreground and background colour and brush thickness when making or creating new shape not manipulating or selecting existing shape.

So this is the thread I had in mind, but it seems to be a different issue. I remembered wrong it seems, sorry…

Also, I should have mentioned, that the issue doesn’t appear on my system - 5.1.3 on Win7.

in the default color profile still appears

I made a clearer video, everything is in the vector layer, the left and right files use different color profiles

errors do not occur in strokes without fill

Hi

Seems similar to:

very similar but in different tools, earlier I tried to create a vector in krita 5.1.3 on my laptop (windows 10) everything was smooth without problems, maybe it just happened on my old PC windows 7 :kiki_sweat_smile:
