This is the scene in my yard this morning. I have always wondered how to express rain in my paintings. I saw many painters paint raindrops on the glass and the blurred lights and scenery outside the window. They are beautiful, but they are all overused. In this painting, I use the texture of the brush to express ripples and the splashing water in the water container to interpret the moment of rain.
