About a week ago, I finished an illustration featuring Kiki the Cyber Squirrel with the intention of gifting it to the Krita Project. I then decided to turn it into a larger package, including the full painting video, a detailed “making of” tutorial, and a brush bundle with my custom brushes.
It is now available for free on GitHub:
I’d like to donate the whole pack to Krita, but I’m not sure how to do it
I hope it ends up being useful.
Ah yes, I remember seeing this one some time ago in reddit. Awesome piece of art It’s great you made all the sources available.
In case it does not get much “traction” here, maybe consider editing this post to fit the “finished artwork” category - or create a separate one there, with the whole art piece and a link to here.
I guess then it can be shown inside the “gallery”, can be featured in the main page etc. It would be a waste for it to go mostly unnoticed.
In principle, it belonged to the now closed Call for artwork for banners and icons topic. But since it can also be used for other than the initially thought of purposes I guess it should be added to that topic anyway.
@raghukamath / @sooz / @Takiro: Do you think I’m right, and it should be added to the linked topic? And if so, would you be so kind to add it to it?
Thank you!
In the end, I think it’s in a good spot as this really is a tutorial, complete with brushes and everything.
The artwork has also been published in the Finished Artwork category, which is great (and has already been nominated in the Best of Krita-Artists thread )
Thank you for sharing your work and the progress to get the wonderful result. It´s always very helpful to see how others do their art in Krita and there is always something to learn! Great work!
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide all this information, documentation, and so on. This is such an invaluable resource! Not just for beginners, but for anyone who makes art – whether with Krita or not.
I hope this is pinned somewhere in the Krita docs so people can continue to come across it. I feel like this kind of material – professional-level process stuff – is what will really help Krita reach an even larger audience.
Not to mention the incredible illustration, of course
