King-under-Leaves Final Illustration

Glad you liked it @creatievelingetje! It’s always nice to hear from others the way they were touched by this piece, after some long solitary hours this is a incentive for me also to keep going on this route! Thanks!

 thanks!

This is truly an amazing work. With so many details and meticulous depictions :+1:, I would probably take a whole year to finish a painting like this …

Yes, sometimes it’s just hard work and hours, no poetry hehehe Thank you very much @JayWong, your work is awesome too!

That’s not true ,man :face_with_monocle: I can see lots of poetry in the rich details rather than just hard work and hours .
My style is pretty rough and loose though. i think I should try to paint in a more tight and detailed way like yours sometimes.

Oh don’t take me too seriously please, it’s just a figure of speach, I’m aware of the subtle and more poetic aspects of this kind of work. But boy oh boy, when you just constantly have to paint one more head, one more helmet, one more spear, it seems like it’ll never end, until the moment it ends

Passages like the still life with the sun flowers and wheat or the cat were like islands in a sea of figures and leaves that allowed me to rest for a while lol

If it’s your call, yes you should try but your work is strong as it is now. Sometimes we get these inner callings and we should follow them even if they are just a stage in our development that will lead to even greater results!
