I really wish for an option to justify texts and to transform the area in which the text is placed so i dont have to manually hit the enter keys for new lines.
I use Krita to design book covers and i frequently run into issues with the text tool. Having to hit the enter key everytime for a new line when making the back cover blurb takes a lot of time and if the costumer wishes for another font size or updates the blur, it’s the same all over again.
Also the norm for dust jackets is justified text (and costumers whish for it on back blurbs, too), so you either have so transform the layer to a paint layer and space the words manually or use another software ro make that text (which brings scaling issues, blurry text and all that nice stuff)
beeing able to adjust the text are manually would save a lot of time on it selfe and the text justification would be the cherry on top.
I agree. The text editor right now isnt very useable in its current state. It would be better, if we could just change the text size like we can change the size of a drawn image
It’s been a long time, but this topic needs to be revived haha. Really, just adding these basic text features would make Krita so much more useful. In my case, I make trading cards, and it would be great to be able to justify the monster description in a pre-set text box. Arranging it manually really takes a lot of time.
Hey, I think if you want the developers to add this feature, you can vote using the “vote” button at the top of this thread. It looks like 20 votes are needed. I already voted.
There is not much need for it here anymore at least in this implementation.
The whole text engine have been rewritten.
You can instead reply and contribute to this thread ;
The good news is that the revamped text tool will be in Krita 6.0 which is now in beta 2.
it maybe just one more beta, and maybe a few release candidate before the full release.
You can test the new text tool in Krita 6.0 and check if the Justify is now working if not feel free to reply there, it was started by Wolthera who is the main developer of this specific feature.
