Hello @foxy_fox and welcome to the forum!
Probably you have not read the FAQ and certainly not the forum rules or looked around here in the forum, because then you would surely know that you have given us far too little information and an absolutely meaningless picture to your garbled question in telegram style. We need much more support from you to be able to help.

So please support us, so we can support you!
Please tell us which version of Krita and which Windows version you are using.
Are you trying to render the animation directly from Krita to the movie without having rendered it to frames first, or have you rendered the animation to frames first from which you now want to create your animation?
Are the frames, if you use previously created frames for the creation, numbered consecutively, or are there jumps in the numbering? So 1, 2, 3, _, 5, 6, 7… or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7?
What version of FFmpeg are you using? The recommended version is the one from Gyan.dev, you could download it from here, or use this direct link:
https://www.gyan.dev/ffmpeg/builds/ffmpeg-release-essentials.zip
Have you successfully created animations with Krita before, and were you able to render them with the settings you chose for the current animation? Or is this your first animation with Krita?
I’ll probably have forgotten a few more questions, but I’m sure they’ll be asked by users with more animation experience. Please excuse this. But answering the questions you’ve been asked will give them something to work with.

Also, are you rendering the animation from frame-0 to the end or are you starting the rendering at frame-n, whatever ‘n’ is?
If so, what were the frame numbers you used for start and end of the rendering process?
If so, does it render ok from frame-0 to a later frame number?
which version of Krita Windows version you are using. - krita 5.1.5 , windows 10 home
Are you trying to render the animation directly from Krita to the movie without having rendered it to frames first, or have you rendered the animation to frames first from which you now want to create your animation?- im not sure if i uderstand the question corectly but im exporting it as a video only
Are the frames, if you use previously created frames for the creation, numbered consecutively, or are there jumps in the numbering? So 1, 2, 3, _, 5, 6, 7… or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7? - i have no idea what u mean by that
What version of FFmpeg are you using? - i downloaded the ffmpeg from ur link, it didnt change anything
Have you successfully created animations with Krita before, and were you able to render them with the settings you chose for the current animation? Or is this your first animation with Krita? - yes i been making animations with krita 4 over 2 years and my rendering procces hasnt changed, but this animation might have a lot more layers than usual and i used a few transform masks and animation curves which i havent used before but i had this issue even in the sketching process where i didnt have either of there things and a lot less layers
and now im having another issue when i try to render a 14 frame segment of the over 600 frames animation, i get an error message saying: could not render the animation: unknown error
it seems rendering from frame 0 does fix the issue but now i have a new problem when i try to render a short segment of the animation i get an error message saying: could not render the animation: unknown error
Hello @Michelist ![]()
There is a problem when rendering does not start at frame-0.
This has been reported on the forum:
Render (not a very informative title)
Animation export bug in latest release
There is a formal bug report:
459993 – Frames being named incorrectly and program being unable to found specified frames to being encoded
In that bug report, the reply to my question was ‘interesting’ but I didn’t try it.
I have created a animation that shows this problem.
It’s to do with frame counter management - it doesn’t count properly.
I’ve no idea when it will be fixed.
All I can suggest is that you render out from frame-0 then use a video editor for the final cut.
The alternative is to render out from frame-0 to an image frame sequence then Import just the frames you want then Render those out again. It’s not good but it would work.
Edit:Add: Actually, if you Render to an Image Sequence then it does seem to be ok for rendering starting in the middle of the animation.
Hello @AhabGreybeard ![]()
@foxy_fox: Okay, because you directly render your animation to a video-file you could not know about the in between step of rendering your animation in a first step to single frames (image sequences), often PNG-Files are used for this, and then create your video in the second step (your first and only step, so far). This is what AhabGreybeard just suggested doing.
This has some advantages, as you can read in Ahab’s post.
One thing I fear to read in your answer is, that you may run out of resources, and probably the higher complexity and the raised number of overall frames may be the issue for your issues.
So, please, if you can’t get any further with Ahab’s hint, and if you get more unknown errors, can you load your animation in Krita and hover with your mouse in the status bar over the memory-widget, it is right beside the size of your animation, where the size of your file is displayed.
Please make a screenshot from the little box that is opening and shows a listing of the memory-consumption of your animation, and I hope it is not always displayed in yellow or even in red, because then you run out of resources. And while we are at that, please tell us your computer’s specifications, mainly RAM and CPU.
But because I myself don’t animate, I’m not the best person to help you further with your issue, there is only basic knowledge on my side, but I’ll always do my best and hope other users with better knowledge step in to take over. So my answer yesterday was mainly to show you that we care and don’t overlook your request for help.
And for today I’m out, because I’m not very well. But at least I wanted to answer your question from today, have a nice day.
