Hello everyone!
You might recognize me (or not!) from my Crayons and pencils bundle
I recently got inspired by these awesome brushes that emulate alcohol markers beautifully, so I wanted to try my hands at them!
Mine are not as realistic looking, but they are less performance heavy and have some fun quirks I hope you’ll like ![]()
Below is a demo of the brushes so that you can see if they’re to your liking, and a description
The bundle is made up of 7 brushes:
0 - a blending marker, which requires more than one pass to effectively blend, personally I love being able to see the marker strokes in a drawing
1, 3 - those are markers, n° 1 has more of a chisel feel, while n° 3 is round, and mostly thought for details. Their blending mode is set to “multiply” (you can see the effect on the demo) and the default opacity is 50% as I found it feels best like this
They both have a bit of hue jitter, which I can never get enough of! ![]()
5, 6 - those are normal inking brushes
Now, what about numbers 2 and 4?
Those are my magic eraser brushes! They are virtually the same as the normal counterparts, but they have the “screen” blending mode.
Because of this, you will find that - when used with the same color as the one being erased - they will remove one marker layer, and if layered they’ll eventually erase the whole thing!
If used with a different color it will not have the same effect, but they can be used to put some highlights in the drawing; and if used with pure white they will have a similar effect to the magic eraser.
They were created because feeling an actual eraser doesn’t feel right when using markers, and using the eraser mode of one of the brushes still felt weird to me.
Here is a very quick sketch I made with the brushes so that you can gauge what they’d look like in an actual drawing (the only ones I didn’t use are the pens)
If you read this far, thank you! I hope you try them out, and if you do I’m curious to see what you draw ![]()

P.S. I’m using a watercolor paper template, of which you can read more on my previous bundle’s post, but the brushes are textured as well, so the effect should be extremely similar on a normal canvas
