Thanks for these great impasto brushes.
Love this bundle but the 1st brush (01 Flat) always crashes Krita when selected. All the other brushes work without any problem.

Hello ! I bought your pack yesterday but it just doesn’t seem to be working :c Every brush is very transparent and i can barely see any colour when using them. I tried changing the “mirror” setting but nothing changed. Do you have any idea what the issue could be ?

Which OS and Krita version are you running? Have you tried re-downloading the bundle? Have you tried if the same occurs on a new Krita resource folder?

That sounds strange. Which OS and Krita version? Is your tablet pressure curve setup correctly - do other brushes reach their max size/opacity?

:slight_smile: Hello @danixtina, and welcome to the forum!

The license that an author has given to its bundle can be viewed in Krita via the menu ‘‘Settings’’ >> ‘‘Manage resource libraries
’’. There you have to select the bundle whose license you want to know, and it will be displayed on the right side if it was noted by the author when the bundle was created.

i’ve downloaded the latest version and tried to re download the bundle. As for the pressure setting my tablet is normal i think, i even tried putting the brushe’s opacity to the maximum but nothing changed. As for the OS i don’t really know which one i’m on, i’m not a big tech guy :confused:

The opacity is mostly controlled by the color rate with these brushes.
You can test drawing with a mouse to rule out it being a tablet issue. Other than that I’ve got no idea. (Posting a screenshot here might help.)

This is how much the 4th brush marks the canvas, and it’s the only one i can actually see. I tried with my mouse but nothing worked :c

Please upload a screenshot of your full Krita window including status bar and title bar of Krita as well as all open dockers while you have selected one of the memileo brushes, the Layers-Docker has to be open and the layer you want to paint on has to be visible, also the Tool Options-Docker (on a fresh installed Krita this is the tab below the color selector in the upper right corner of Krita) has to be open and fully visible.

With OS, we meant your operating system, so Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or ChromeOS (or even Haiku).

had previously tried all that except re-downloading which seems to have solved the issue. Thanks. I feel like such a noob :smirk:

Yes, you’re running Windows 11. I don’t see anything that looks odd other than the faint brushstroke. (You can press the little circle arrows button to reset the temporary edits made to a preset.)

Things to try:

  • If you export the image to a png/jpg, is it as faint in the exported image?
  • Start over with a new resource folder and preference file: Either move them to a different location so you can revert if it doesn’t solve things, or use another/new user account.

Krita’s preferences are saved in the file kritarc. This file is located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ on Windows




If you have installed Krita through the Windows store, the kritarc file will be in another location:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\49800Krita_RANDOM STRING\LocalCache\Local\kritarc

If you have not changed your resource folder location, the resources can be found at


Windows
%APPDATA%\krita\

I’ve never tried this Impasto Brushes bundle so I downloaded it and installed it with Settings → Manage Resource Libraries → Import.
It took a long time to complete the Import action but then they were in the Brush Presets docker.

The 02 - Knife - Wavy Ridges brush preset worked with no adjustments needed with mouse and stylus.
It was very patchy at low stylus pressure but that’s not a surprise.

Can you upload a screenshot of the Brush Editor for this. Here is mine:

Hi!! Im quite new to file stuff since ive done most of my digital art on mobile and paid/not as open source programs where i need to do a liiiittleee bit more work to get brushes installed instead of like, going to a little online store or importing an image of a qr code to the app, let me snap back to my problem , so like when i go to the website to like, download the brushes , i get a little error saying this

@moribat It’s super simple to install brushes on Krita.
You posted this in the thread for Memileo Impasto Brushes. Is this the bundle you’re working with or is it a different one? And which operating system are you on (Windows? Android?)

Ive installed brushes on Krita before, its the download site/link thats causing me problems (yes this is the bundle im working with and im on windows)

I just tested the pling.com site, it works. There are 3 places you need to click: The blue download button on the right, then the description that appears directly under the download button once clicked, then the large download button that will appear on your screen after 2-3 seconds.

Which part of the process is not working for you?
