Alright Krita.
Really I don’t understand this thing about the UI.
You’ve managed to make docker carry the actual functionality that is adequate for windows/tab docking, that which would make the “subwindows, tabs” options useless in the settings.
How come you took care of that for the dockers, but not for the document viewport?
For the document viewport’s docker, you could simply move the close button as
shown on picture above.
Have you ever thought about this in the process as you designed the program’s UI?
(honestly the UI and transform tools could use some enhancement regarding their ergonomics to match the ideal and not yet implemented standard functionality for “professional and best productivity”)
Maybe I missed an episode regarding discussion on this UI aspect, maybe I didn’t.
Your response by anticipation is very much appreciated.
I think this is discussed already here in the forum. And there are plans to improve docker in future.
One thing you are assuming wrong is equating the window tab to that for the docker. Both are different in Qt the toolkit that krita uses to show the UI. And it is because of this toolkit there are limitations for tweaking it like adding close button next to the title etc.
And there is some other library is in consideration which provides better functionality for the docker. it might take long to develop so I would advice some patience.
It’s not a request. It’s a feedback. You don’t have to like it.
It’s the content that matters the most.
Also I’m looking mostly for information by discussing with people who know better than me.
Yeah, @sooz is criticizing the tone and way you gave your feedback and not the feedback itself. There is a difference in both. If I may give a feedback to you, I would suggest you to try to be less combative and tone down the rhetorical way of giving feedback. I can give you specific example in your post
I may be alone here but to me these sound like some surprised manager asking for work that is not done already.
With that said I am glad that the information I provided helped you
I’m not speaking of manager here. You are.
Also, I’m pretty sure that logic can help you if you have a problem with the tone.
These questions are straight even if they point out how clueless/ignorant the one giving the feedback is.
It’s already bad to assume too much as it can be dangerous.
So at least, please continue to make efforts when people looking for some information are asking questions.
Well it might be a language issue. Somehow you did not understand what I said and took only the “manager” part. Let us not waste more time. In future please keep your tone non combative and non rhetorical. State your problems and issue and feedback in a more friendly way, We all want to improve krita giving feedback is good but it should be polite.
