i recommend lowering the spacing on brush tip to least amount under Predefined. otherwise brush isnt as smooth
works well with mean removal on layer and erasing part with lower opacity. and i have hotkey to brighten or darken color,

made the brush a bit longer and less dark value with pressure. slightly smaller at very start with less opacity. has mean removal again to make less blurry
