As an artist that makes a lot of book covers for digital media I would like to ask here, why Krita still uses a text box to make text? Why the auxiliar tools about a text box dont show the right font and size when we select the text?
It’s the unic inprovement that I ask you developers, let’s edit text directly on screen. The flux textbox – > save → see result → close textbox → change position → open textbox → save → see result… is exaustive.

Take a look at this plugin, it won’t resolve all the problems but it will (probably) help.
Also, the text tool is one of the major candidate for a entire rework, or so I heard.
They are very aware haha
To quote the 2019 sprint
“Text Tool: it is still not usable for the primary goal, namely comic book text balloons. We need to make it suitable. We know what to do, we just don’t have the time while fighting incoming bugs all the time.”
The biggest hurdle I think was that they needed to prioritize the resource rewrite, which was an incredibly big and amazing effort. Now that the rewrite has been made, I think they can have a bigger focus on features again, and text is something they really want to focus on! They mentioned text shape as a goal for 2022 in a post from this year 
On another note: I changed the title to something less disrespectful, but equally ‘negative’.
While I find silly to censor the original word you used, it is a fact that this forum is open and accessible for everyone. Also the minimum age for users is 13, so better safe than sorry.

Thanks people for the comments and solutions, I was thinking that it wasn’t a problem to the community when I come here the first time and there was no topics about text on Krita.
I hope next kritas upgrades could help us with new text tools.
Really? I find that one of the most commonly discussed topics around here, maybe you didn’t see it cause it’s mostly discussed alongside other problems or it’s included in feedbacks from people who use krita coming from other programs.
I think its because most already know its on the list by now - specially now the resource rework is done,
though a question like yours pop up about once a month , if not text its vector work flow - [which include text].
I just scrolled down, searched “text” and found 1 item (2 but the second was 'text’ure).
Certainly as you pointed, too many discussions more recently.
I’m happy that this topic had been so discussed, but in the other hand… This topic had been so discussed and we are still using textbox. Keeping hope.
like kaichi pointed out there where other priorities, mainly the resource rework which still has some bugs that needs to be fixed, reworking the text and vectors is far from a trivial matter. its good to note that krita dev team is really small so big changes like this cant be done quickly, i am not a krita dev but i am a software developer and in my view its better to fix the recent changes first than to jump right into the next big change. For now there is the lazy text plugin that can help a bit, though for now its much better to use another program for text like inkscape.
So no need for hope, it will be worked at some point, just might take a while.
