Honestly you should still submit it! Even though it may not look finished to your expert eyes, it’s already more advanced than many people can achieve and definitely good enough to participate as is!

Wow, this is bombastic! What a cool idea to ride a “running” horse. Riding it this way also means doing it in the sense of the word, so it’s sort of ridden twice by Kiki, both literally and on the horse’s back! Just wonderfully refreshing, this idea.
It could be that my enthusiasm expressed here comes due to the linguistic connotations of my native language to the process described here in reference, so please do not be surprised if you can not grasp the context I see! I find it simply outstanding from the idea, and also the execution pleases.

Well, here’s the current state of my painting. I feel like I spent way too much time splashing colors on that background, just to finally tighten and blur it! LOL
Might as well be finished because I don’t know how to improve it from here, even if I’m sure there would be things to make it look more professional. Suggestions accepted.

I like your concept! Your background has some really nice strong light and dark contrast. May I suggest adding more highlights, darks/shadows and contrast on your subjects to match the light direction in the background? Could be really stunning I think!

The change to “Challenge” has made it easier for me to feel comfortable participating!

everyone has their own interpretation of Kiki, you dont have to have it perfectly 1 to 1 with Tyson Tan’s design, i dont think you need to worry!

I just wanted to explain the process of how I improved those lights and shadows in case it would help anyone. I copied all the character layers, fused the copies into one and locked the alpha so I could have their silhouette available without the risk of painting outside. Then I covered it in dark green for the shadow that predominates here, lowered the opacity to about 20% and added touches of yellowish white for the light. And I chose the layer mode “Inverse Substract” that improved the contrasts in the best way for a shadow layer in this case…
