Re importing the bundle file, can you confirm that you get an error message when you do the following:

Go into Manage Resources > Import Resources

Navigate to the bundle file, highlight it and tap on open.

Re the kpp that downloads as a png file, if you scroll through the thread, the answer is in there, just a few posts below the download:

okay so when i follow the instructions through the user manual, it says to do Settings ‣ Manage Resources
 ‣ Open Resource Folder which is what caused the error, however your way worked!!

however when i renamed the .png file it didnt change? i dont know how to change the file type to .kpp, is that something i have to do online? i tried doing it anyway as a brush tip (as the other optionn was a pattern) and nothing happened? i didnt see it in the brushes

The manual still shows the old-fashioned way to share a brushtip by locating it in the resource folder. If you’re just getting used to Krita, stay away from stuff like that. You don’t need to learn that until you’re completely comfortable with how Krita works. Stick to bundle files and you’ll never go wrong.

Re the kpp file
Once it’s in your downloads folder, right click on it and choose rename. Change the file extension. Then open Krita and import it by going to:
Manage Resources > Import resources

i figured out the problem!! when i renamed it, it only changed the name not the file type. i had to manually turn on “show file name extensions” to change the file type. thanks for the help!!

Ah, good detective work!

Suppressing file name extensions, the sick Microsoft behavior!

As I recall, they felt they had to do that to reduce the massive number of complaints they were getting from new/naive computer users who complained that when they used, e.g. Word, to create a document that they saved with a filename of letter then they saw that its name had been ‘changed’ to letter.doc
They regarded that as a violation of their rights to self determination and personal control of their own intellectual property.
Instead of trying to educate users, which is difficult, Microsoft hid file extensions by default to reduce the number of complaints.
