Best of Krita-Artists – June/July 2025 – Nomination Submissions Thread

Welcome to the Featured Artwork submissions thread. This is where Krita-Artists members nominate artwork to appear in the featured row.

How it works

Each month, around the 15th, we’ll post a nominations thread. Krita-Artists members can make up to five submissions in each monthly thread. This nominations thread will be open for submissions until 2025-07-11T18:00:00Z.

Everyone is welcome to vote when the poll is published. The five images receiving the most votes will be inducted into the featured artwork row. Winning images will also be entered into the Best of Krita-Artists – 2025 competition at the end of the year.

Best of Krita-Artists – 2025

In January 2026, we will publish a post containing all the winning entries from the previous year. K-A member voting will determine the top ten and these finalists will be awarded a “Best of Krita-Artists – 2025” badge. In case you missed it, here are the results from last years’ winning entries: Best of K-A 2024

How to Submit a Nomination for Monthly Featured Artwork

Tag the artist using their @ name, insert a link to the full-size image and then add a link to the original post. You may want to open 2 tabs in your browser as you will need to refer to the original post twice.

Detailed Posting Instructions (click to open)
  1. Open a new reply in this thread and type the @ name of the artist you are nominating.
  2. Go to the artist’s post and click on the image. When the image appears on your screen, right click and copy or save the image link (image address).
  3. Return to the nomination post and press hyperlink or ctrl+k. Paste the URL (optional title is not necessary). Once the link markdown is inserted into the post, add a single ! (exclamation mark) before the [ (the opening square bracket) of the link. It will look something like this:
    ![title](url)
  4. Return to the artist’s post and copy the URL. Paste this URL into your nomination post.
  5. Save/publish the post.

Guidelines

  • Forum members may make up to five nominations per month.
  • You may not nominate your own work.
  • All artwork published in the Artwork:Finished Artwork category is eligible. The only exception is artwork that is already featured (look for the “featured” tag next to the post title).

The featured artwork nomination process is brought to you by Krita-Artists’ Admins and Moderators. We welcome feedback and suggestions. To submit feedback, please click here and add your thoughts.

You are not the first one who faced this issue, I once ran in the same trap.

Thank you for the nomination, Katamaheen! I feel honoured to be selected by you among all the beautiful art here.

Speaking of that, I want to return the favour and nominate some artists myself:

I nominate @The_Nguyen_Nguyen for the funny, creative and adorable artwork “Having a chat with the fish” :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Next up is @NovaAstralis with her work “Becoming the Lake”. It makes great use of a limited colour palette, uses a unique graphical style and an interesting pose of the main character. You can really feel this druid or sorcerer holds power over the waters. :flexed_biceps:

My third nomination is “Inspired from Alice in wonderland” by @Cheshire. This artist already shows amazing skill, even though she only learned to paint with Krita recently. While her username makes a cameo in the flat colour scribbles of the background, the eyes are drawn to two beautiful girls in the foreground painted in semi-realistic manga style. Bold colours, a nice shadowing style and gentle lineart round of the picture. :+1:

“Torii and Geisha” is an artwork of a colourful and symmetric style that you don’t see every day. Its creator, @Syntetyc not only shows the drawing process on video, but also has created and uploaded his own brushpack here.

While @ynr_nohara is not exactly new here (check this huge sketchbook!), the artist is making great progress lately, experimenting and training a lot while carefully evaluating the results so we can learn as well. What I notice in “Lucy Cyberpunk Egderunner Fanart” is a step forward in the 3d effect, values and skin rendering while also featuring a powerful rainbow colour scheme which does not look easy to pull of.

Good Luck to everyone! :four_leaf_clover:

Belief by @z586t just blows me away. The portrait is clearly the focal point but my eyes keep getting drawn into the peripheral images. Gorgeous work.
