To put simply, it seems Krita can’t write the standard Japanese manga text format. The one used for making manga(tategaki). If there’s any options for that, I’ll be delighted for a solution. Thanks for reading
Hello @Victor_Lawrencw, and welcome to the forum!
Maybe you are interested to know that Krita’s Text Tool is renewed, and things like vertical text from LTR or RTL are part of this rewrite. The text above was created using the Krita nightly version 5.3.0-prealpha (git bb04844), for instance.
Here you can find the topic where this is discussed:

I just downloaded the recent version of Krita, does it have to be nightly build to be able to use it? In the newest version, it doesn’t have that option
Thanks for the quick response. ![]()
Sorry for the disturbance. Which one should I download from the list. I’m using windows. I mean are they all nightly build?
Currently, it is this one:
https://cdn.kde.org/ci-builds/graphics/krita/master/windows/krita-x64-5.3.0-prealpha-94c2d5dd.zip
So always select the lowest option for future downloads.

You made my day.
