Puppet warp

Good morning, good evening!

I specify in advance that I am not a user of clip studio paint, but only of Krita, Photoshop and procreate. I don’t like CLIP studio paint at all, because of its operation and the interface.

This is the first time I post here, so please excuse me if I’m in the wrong topic!

I was walking on tik tok, and being an artist myself, I saw some colleagues talking about the new CSP 4.0 update. So I actually researched and came across the video clip studio paint, as well as the Puppet warp tool. And frankly, it’s incredible.

Do you know if there is a plugin or directly an option in krita itself? Thank you very much!!

Krita has had Warp transform for a long time now, but it’s clunky in comparison and takes way more effort to achieve similar results.

Edit:
Video example:
KRITA 4.4.2 WARP MODE (in-depth 2021 tutorial inside the transform tool)

Another clunky way is one of the Krita-Blender plugins, since I don’t use Blender, I guess it was Blender Layer - Live 3d View in Krita, but it could also be one of these two: Blender Krita Link: plugin for texture editing in Krita or Krita Blender Workflow Bridge Plugin, make the transition between Krita and Blender easier, it helps to paint on a puppet if I understood it correctly.

I don’t think there is a feature in krita that does exactly that but it seems like mesh option in transform tool combined with warp option.
Could be nice to see a new transform tool option like that or native plugin with some tool. The cage is nothing new as the feature comes from programs like live2D.

Go make feature request with detailed explanation.

It’s not the same thing at all unfortunately, I’m really talking about a “puppet warp” like here:

(I didn’t know Photoshop had the same option) but it’s the same thing.

Thank you! But no, it’s not the same unfortunately. I am not a developer, but there is no blender, maya or other extensions.

It’s really specific to the software, example with Photoshop (which also has this tool and whose existence I didn’t know)

I never said it’s the same. You can do similar stuff with it if you set own grid with “draw” option but as I said it’s a tedious and clunky process.

Krita doesn’t have exact “puppet warp” and probably won’t have one anytime soon.

You didn’t need to post that video twice, and I also understood very well what you are after, unfortunately I couldn’t offer you more than a may be workaround.
But if you had done what you are asked to do by our rules, then you already knew why Krita does not have it already, and that there are at least two open feature requests on it, as well as several discussions on this topic. And the bummer for you can be found via my last sentence below. ↓

More probably never.

As anyone can see, on behalf of the first feature request for this feature dating back to the 22nd August 2021 and the second from 12th July 2023, to which you now added at least the fourth, since at minimum one of the feature requests on this topic from the 4th November 2022 was merged into one of the two that were open before you added again a third open request to them …
Additionally, I can imagine that you may be interested on the course of this discussion about animating in vector layers that began in October 2020, and here especially these thre postings by Krita’s Maintainer and Lead Developer (or the last word in the house of Krita  ):

whose context you’ll find in said topic, since it clearly reveals, in my eyes, why Krita does not have it so far and probably won’t see it, even in the far future, but I may be wrong with my assumption.
